Harry Potter saved the world, and now we have to live in it.
That was twenty-two years ago, more or less. Life’s been pretty peaceful since then, Death Eaters rounded up, Dementors sent back to guard the prison. Even the Order disbanded, members going home to their families.
There are always hiccups, of course. Little pockets of dissent, or anger, or destruction. But nothing big, nothing major. Slowly the WWII generation is healing, accepting losses and moving on. The next generation, their children, will listen wide-eyed to stories, but those things don’t affect them, do they?
Of course not. But its 2020 now, and we all live together, and by the looks of things, we’re going to need all the help we can get. Minister Harkness’ laws; the blood cards, the Auror Revelation Act, the Floo rationing… they’re not very popular. And as students head off to school, their class politics will be dominated by the politics of their parents, their older siblings. Minister Harkness is rumored to be running for Minister again, against two new candidates.
Riots and disagreements abound, with magic acting strangely and spells going awry (or not working at all!) tensions are high and tempers are heated.
